2019 City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival - The Cosh Bar and Grill

    10.30pm till Late

The Cosh Bar and Grill, 66 Buncrana Rd, Derry BT48 0XX

We are delighted to be able to announce the first venue of our return to the City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival in 2019

The Cosh Bar and Grill will be the hosts of our first evening at this years festival, and from all accounts, they can't wait to have us there!

The venue have has had us booked with the festival organisers since early last year (unbeknown to us!) after seeing us perform at the 2018 festival.

The venue has a great reputation for all kinds of live music, but we're not sure they've ever seen anything like AJO, so it's a great opportunity to introduce our unique style of big band jazz, funk, soul, pop, Motown and swing to a whole new audience.

We've got a lot of new material planned for Derry 2019, so the Cosh crowd will be the first to hear it over the weekend.

The venue is perfect for us, raised stage, large function area for lots of people, and a guaranteed atmosphere that will have us banging out the tunes till the early hours!

Live In Wigan - Wigan Jazz Club

    12:30pm

Whelley Ex-Servicemen's Club, Vauxhall Road, Wigan, WN1 3LU

Start time: 12.30pm (doors open at 11.30am)
    Finish time: 3pm (approx)

Continuing our drive to take our unique style of big band to NEW audiences, we are delighted to confirm a date on one of the UK’s most well known and respected jazz programmes - The Wigan Jazz Club.

Wigan Jazz Club, has been bringing national and international jazz to the North-West of England for over 30 years, and are closely associated with the annual Wigan International Jazz Festival. The club has also been listed in The Independent as one of the top 50 jazz venues in the UK.

Ian Darrington, programme and festival organiser, says: We are excited to welcome this superb band for their first performance at the Wigan Jazz Club. Their exciting, energetic, powerhouse style is perfect for the Wigan audience; one that has been brought up on Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, and Stan Kenton. If the band makes only half the impact they did at the 2018 Guinness Cork Festival this could well turn out to be the Jazz Club gig of the year.

*We are working on a special set for this event, focused more on Big Band Legends such as Maynard Ferguson (a previous performer at the club) Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton, and Sammy Nestico … so if you like your big band with ripping shout sections, screaming trumpet and sax solos, and a driving rhythm section - this is for you!

THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY BUSY GIG, SO GET IN THERE EARLY FOR TO BOOK YOUR TICKETS.

Tickets available on line from: http://justaddtickets.co.uk (advisable especially for those travelling any distance)
